Project Description
I need help learning the extent of tools available for my research on pangenomes for dogs. This means I need students willing to help read and share techniques published online, aka a literature review (I will supply papers to read). My other project entails DNA extractions from oral swabs, data entry from consent forms, and some literature review. Please apply through this Google Form: https://forms.gle/bvGAwZCLpRbHLUiG7

Team Needs
Freshmen and Sophomores preferred!! No prior knowledge of genetics, coding, or wet lab practices needed but preferred. Fluent in English. Our lab has computers if you don’t have one.

Special Opportunities
You will learn DNA extractions from swabs at least (chance for blood/tissue). Gain an advanced understanding of applicable genetics for studying physical differences between animals/species. Practice presentation skills. Probably learn a bunch of dog breeds in the process. Our lab always has new projects so you’re welcome to stay after Research Corps for Research Credit and potentially your own project (you could publish). I wrote an Undergraduate Thesis as A&M so I can mentor this.
