Project Description
This project explores the effects of the use of virtual reality interventions in pediatric patient education. It will result in a scoping review summarizing what kinds of VR educational interventions exist and have been studied in the healthcare industry and what outcomes have been noted and measured. The results of this project will be used to shape future studies and application of this new and evolving technology to improve pediatric patient outcomes, including but not limited to anxiety, pain, emotional regulation, understanding, and cooperation.

Team Needs
We are seeking team members with a strong interest in the intersection between healthcare and education, especially with a focus on the youth population. While no prior research experience is required, team members must be motivated and detail-oriented learners willing to dedicate time and hard work to practicing the associated skills required to contribute to the project.

Special Opportunities
Team members will gain hands-on experience in contributing to a research project that may result in conference presentations and publications, with specific focus on conducting a scoping review. In addition to developing skills in analyzing and contributing to research, members will leave the project with a deeper knowledge of how to address real-world challenges that arise during research and how to work effectively as a member of a research team to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
