Project Description
Morphological traits provide a critical lens for understanding how organisms adapt to their environments. The Italian wall lizard (Podarcis siculus) represents an exceptional system for investigating how morphology is shaped by environmental pressures due to its broad distribution across both native and invasive ranges, as well as its ability to persist in diverse habitats.
This project seeks to examine the extent to which environmental pressures influence morphological variation in P. siculus. Students will participate in a morphometrics project by landmarking photos from the field. All work will take place at Texas A&M University.
Team Needs
Students will need a personal computer. PCs are preferable
Students are expected to be self-motivated. A background in biology and a willingness to engage with scientific literature is required.
Special Opportunities
Students will have the opportunity to gain research experience and learn new skills related to morphological measurements. Students will gain experience with research software.
