Project Description
Drawing from a citizen science database of US plants and NOAA climate records, this study will attempt to determine if there is a link between polyploidy and several climatic variables such as temperature, rainfall, sunlight hours and so on.
Team Needs
Currently, most of the work is research and data entry. It's not terribly exciting, so we need people willing to put in the time doing boring, repetitive searches to get to the hopefully exciting results. Experience with statistics, or with programming languages like python and R is beneficial, but not required. General biology knowledge is also helpful but not required.
Special Opportunities
Authorship, opportunity to learn some plant genetics, and some basic biostatistics.
