NIH AREA Proposal Development Leadership Program

This proposal development leadership program is a cross-insititutional partnership among TAMU, PVAMU, and TAMUCT designed to cultivate grant proposal teams focused in NIH Area Grants.

Due Date: February 25, 2026

Solicitation Summary: The NIH Research Enhancement Award (R15 clinical trial not lowed) has three objectives are to: 1) Provide support for meritorious research at undergraduate-focused institutions or institutional components, 2) Strengthen the research environment at these institutions/components, and 3) Give undergraduate students an opportunity to gain significant biomedical research experience through active involvement in the research. Institutions must not have received support from the NIH totaling more than $6 million per year, not a Health Professional School or College, has greater undergraduate student enrollment than graduate student enrollment. Texas A&M University faculty are not eligible to be PI, but TAMU faculty may collaborate with PIs housed at TAMU System Universities.
